Moved post from 4/13 - G-Street Fabrics - The Devil!

In the words of Erica B., "ooooooh, I LOVE a sale". Well, I've started back sewing, again, and G Street Fabrics has a sale where you have an additional 25% off an already reduced item. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELL, I have a few patterns laying around with no fabric and I just happened to find the following FABULOUS fabric:

First we have this WONDERFUL, orange silk with a linen tweed. I plan on making the dress with the silk and the jacket with the linen tweed.

Next, we have the remnants of a cute polyester fabric. I plan on making one of the dresses pictured with it. (The fabric cost me less than $10!)

I found this nice designer, polyester, sheer fabric remnant (the 3 yards cost me less than $15!). I think I'd like to make the dress pictured on the right with it, but I can't choose the lining color for it. I was thinking of making the bodice of a black crepe fabric, but I have NO idea what color for the lining of the skirt.....Hmmmm......ideas?

Oh, what do I make with this beautiful printed silk I found...
Anyone who lives in the Maryland, DC, or Northern VA area MUST check out G Street Fabrics! I took my Godmother there last summer and she stayed for 2 hours! LOL......

Happy sewing!!

Moved post from 3/19 - Pattern Sale at Hancock Fabrics...

LAWD, help me!! This weekend (3/23/07 through 3/25/07), Hancock Fabrics is putting ALL of their Vogue Patterns on sale for $3.99. These patterns retail for $20+ EACH, but Joanns and Hancocks regularly have them for 40% off. BUT (I know you don't start a sentence with BUT), $3.99 is a great value!

I've been eyeing the pattern above for about 3 weeks now. I saw some BEAUTIFUL orange silk fabric in G Street Fabrics that would make that dress a KNOCK OUT and a nice orange, green and blue tweed linen fabric for the jacket....hmmmmmmmmm.....
